In 2004, Erik and David created the beta version of Roblox, which was initially meant to be called DynaBlocks. Not long after graduation, Erik was invited to join the company Knowledge Revolution, which was founded by his friend David Baszucki and David’s brother Greg – the three worked at the company side by side before it was sold to MSC Software in December 1998, for $20 million. ![]() After matriculating from high school in 1985, he enrolled at Cornell University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989. He was mostly focused on learning the basics, but was also interested in sports, as he played soccer for the school’s team. ![]() ![]() He grew up dreaming about becoming an actor, but fell in love with computing while attending high school, and became interested in programming.
